A personal Journey about discovery of one’s own culture, this being the Te Au Māori realm. This is a project about re-indigenising oneself through the process of creation, korero and whakapapa. My collection is aiming to prove to myself that I am not only Māori but a striving creative one. A battle against ones owns built in internalized racism, weaving new pathways disconnected from the western expectation. Slowing the process down and embracing the journey that Io, the creator has set out for us.
