Fashion Design
This research project and fashion collection seeks to reinterpret the historical narrative of the 19th-century hysteric woman through a contemporary lens. I explore the parallels between past and present treatments of women, focusing on how the feminisation of terms like “emotional” still undermines women’s voices and lived experiences. Throughout my collection I aim to reclaim the figure of the ‘hysteric’ as a symbol of resistance against patriarchal views of femininity.
