My practice has been an exploration of my cultural identity and sense of belonging through the use of Korean national symbols. Tiger stripes adorning the body evoke protection, heritage and unity, while the mugunghwa flower represents endurance: an embodiment of the soul. Their coexistence expresses my dual identity as a Korean Kiwi, revealing how cultural memory continues to glow even across distance, where diaspora often creates a sense of absence.
