Laird observes the change seen in place around us and in ourselves. Turning to discarded or ‘broken’ objects found around Te Whanganui-a-Tara her work captures politics, discourse and identity. With care she employs kiwi ingenuity, finding potential, and value that has been there all along. Prompting viewers to reframe their relationships with the interior and the exterior, the public and the personal, the discarded and the precious.
