I Felt Whenua' explores the relationships between material, maker and whenua. It follows the journey of fibre as it transforms into its final form. The fibres used are sourced from Aotearoa, with the raw wool collected from the artist's whānau farm. This process directly links the material to the whenua of Aotearoa, holding mauri throughout its transformation and honouring its whakapapa.
