This project explores modularity in backpack design, enabling users to adapt their carrying system to specific needs. Aimed at extending a pack’s lifespan, it reduces the need for multiple backpacks across activities or body types. Inspired by versatility in tramping and trail running, it investigates how one pack can adapt through detachable components. Through iterative prototyping and testing, “Switch Back” was developed - a functional system showcasing adaptable load setups and demonstrating versatile performance across diverse outdoor pursuits.
