As a skater I have purchased and worn through countless pairs of shoes, and when the time comes to throw them away, I find it hard, as I have become attached to them, trying to make them last longer with temporary repairs. I chose to tackle the high consumption of performance skate shoes and come up with a sustainable and repairable solution. Which lead me to designing, Re-Tread. A sustainable and repairable skate shoe designed for skaters, by skaters. This project whakapapa's to The Pukeahu National War Memorial (Mems) and to the community who skate there.
