These prototypes reframe the chest binder as an ergonomic, body-modifying wearable; reimagining binding as reshaping as opposed to rigid compression.

100% elasticated to foster movement and deep breathing—a departure from traditional binders that rely on a non-stretch panel for a flattened front.

Designed alongside physiotherapists and gender-affirming clinicians, the project advances a materials solution: a bonded-silicone interior that provides gentle adhesion, redistributes tissue, and lets wearers generate a range of silhouettes—a better catch-all for day-to-day gender fluidity.

The goal is to effectively ameliorate gender dysphoria while allowing deep, full breaths with no rib pressure—facilitating movement, easing all-day wear, and enabling life-affirming participation in daily activities.
Centered on lived experience and inclusivity, it exemplifies design as care—prioritising choice, comfort, and long-term well-being.
