“Reverence in Exile” is a visual observation of my hometown, Palmerston North, capturing the sense of estrangement from a once familiar place while confronting the city’s underlying socioeconomic and infrastructural issues. This project encompasses both emotional depth and literal photographic elements. Utilising medium-format digital photography, these images have been composed in a square format, providing a focused and uniform viewing experience. The monochromatic palette highlights the contrast between the explored themes, enhancing their visual and emotional impact.
