Uplifted explores the value of recomposing coastal spaces into places where the community and te taiao can converge and flourish. Informed by Prospect-Refuge theory, Uplifted proposes versatile community structures for observation, education, and stewardship. Environmental context is embedded within the design to communicate predicted sea-level rise, emphasising the site’s long-term fragility. The focal point—a lighthouse structure —serves as a distinctive landmark, fostering local identity and creating a more memorable experience.
