Peat mapping 0–6000 mm – a speculative drawing of seeping temporalities.

Spatial Design
Peat in Aotearoa continues to be drained, burnt, and degraded through colonial extraction. This research does not attempt restoration. It asks how performative mapping can sense–with the leaking, layered processes of peat. A ten-metre drawing unfurls from below. Backlit and curling through itself, lines collapse, slip and thicken. This practice offers relation through care—drawing from within the rot and peat’s altered ecologies to open space for mourning, and imagining otherwise.
