Textile Design
This project explores reconnection to cultural identity, reflecting on intergenerational relationships, oral traditions, and embodied memory. Investigating whakapapa as both concept and process through layered painting, and textile craft. 'Tui Tui Tuia' is a binding of layers of cloth and people. Utilising conversation as a means of reconnecting hidden threads and using intuitive making as a way to visualise a continuous, looping, interwoven system of knowledge.
